I was born and raised in Massachusetts in a BIG family (seen above at my brother's wedding).
I relocated to North Carolina in 2014 and was very excited to find warmer winters and have the opportunity to explore a brand new area! I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2008 and my Master's degree as a Reading Specialist in 2012. I spent the first six years of my career teaching First Grade in Massachusetts. While working up North, I had the opportunity to establish the Literacy Committee, serve as a Mentor teacher, and serve as a founding member of the Instructional Student Support Team. Since moving to Raleigh, I have coached several seasons of Girls on the Run and became the Co-Coordinator of the Hilburn After School Program.
I enjoy reading, hiking, camping, and traveling as much as possible. The past few years, I have been able to combine several of my interests and travel to Aruba, Savannah, Greece, Florida, and New Orleans. I am a wicked big Boston sports fan and am becoming a Carolina fan as well. I enjoy getting out to as many sporting events as I can each year.
I feel very honored to have the opportunity to work with such a wonderful group of Third Graders this year. I look forward to working closely with both you and your child. I am more than happy to answer any of your questions about our classroom. Feel free to contact me via email at [email protected]
